Review#95: Superboy t-shirt, Graphitti Designs

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

The main difference between this and any Superman t-shirt is the colors. It’s only black and red. Now, when Superman “died” in the 90’s, four people came to fill his shoes, either claiming to be him, or just fill the void. One of these was a clone of Superman, later revealed to have half Superman DNA, half Lex Luthor DNA. In recent years he switched to this costume, with the black t-shirt and jeans. He recently died saving the universe from an insane Superboy from an alternate reality.

Spittin’ image, eh?

This shirt is pretty cool. The problem I have with it is that the insignia is a little too big, and the placement is odd. It was also $18, wich is really steep for me, but I plan on wearing it a lot. It’s still a good guy but it’s a little darker than the symbol of the big blue guy.

Review#94: Moosehead Lager

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

It’s crisp, it’s light, it’s Canadian. Twelve packs were on sale at my work for $8.99, so I thought I’d indulge. I’m sure I’ve had it before, but I don’t remember EVERY beer I’ve ever had…that’s the point. It’s really good for that price. It’s better than PBR, but not as good as other beers that cost $9 a 6 pack. This is what days off of work were made for.

Review#93: Kroger’s Everyday Bath Tissue

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

I’m usually pretty pleased when my roomies buy supplies. Believe me, I notice and am then racked with guilt because I didn’t spend my time and money to make our lives easier. However I went to the bathroom the other day and there was Kroger toilet paper in there. I have only one peice of advice:

Do not ever buy this toilet paper. Ever.

Review#92: Stuffonmycat.com

The wonderful thing about reviewing a web page on a web page is that I just have to link to it and you can go look at it yourself. Stuff on my Cat is awesome. It’s my new favorite page. it’s just what it sounds like.

Review#91: Elf Power: Back to the Web (2006)

Friday, September 1st, 2006

The problem with reviewing music is that it’s very difficult for me to represent sound with words. I can say that I bought Elf Power’s original ep, “Vainly Clutching At Phantom Limbs”, on CD a few years ago just on a hunch. I used to randomly pick cds out of the Indie Rock section. This is one of the only bands that actually paid off. The ep was lo-fi and homemade, right up my alley. In years since, the band has polished up, and I haven’t heard much of their later albums but what I’ve heard is good. This new album just came out this year and I think it’s really great. I love listening to it. Give it a shot. I can’t even say “You’ll like Elf Power if you like….” I don’t know who they sound like. You can hear samples of their other albums at Amazon but for some reason not the new one….hmm….

you can hear some of the new songs on their myspace page. wich for some reason wont link.
