Review # 210: Legend
Still not feeling too bloggy, so this’ll be a quickie.
My co-worker Nate really likes this movie for some reason. I hated it. Another co-worker, Nick, just saw it for the first time and described it this way (don’t tell Nate!):
“I could have dreamed this…and it would have been better.”
For me, it didn’t hold my interest enough to even remember the plot. Tom Cruise was never attractive, I don’t know who that chick is*, and Tim Curry looked rad, but that’s about it. If you’ve never seen it, watch the Dark Crystal instead.
*(oh, i just looked her up. she’s the chick from Ferris Bueller…the movie, not the tv show with jennifer aniston that most people think of.)

Yes, Legend is a pile of puke. But I don’t think I know anything that thinks of the TV show when Ferris Bueller is mentioned. In fact, the mention of the Ferris Bueller TV show just makes me think of “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose,” which I think you should review.

Yeah I am with you. I saw this movie as a kid and had fond memories of it. Then as an adult I made the mistake of BUYING it on DVD and when I rewatched it I fuckin dry heaved for hours! It totally blows, I think that the only reason I had positive memories of it was that I must have been aroused by the hot/evil/sexy/scariness of Tim Curry. But they could have just edited all of the Tom Cruise parts out and done a compilation loop of the Tim Curry scenes and it would have been fine.

but what’s funny is josh’s idea to review parker lewis made my brain do this….”well if he’s going to review parker lewis, he might as well review eerie indiana” which in turn led me to thinking about watching trilogy movies for a day or two my next days off….which led me to think of problem child one, two and three….which makes me wish you could put a picture of big ben up somewhere…
…which led me to look up parker lewis, which led me to this quote from parker lewis;
“Who does this guy think he is… Ferris Bueller?”
None of this is in any way related to legend…
