Review #206: Jesus Christ

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Jesus, if a hippie, would have stated his main idea as: “Hey, man, just love each other.” Although I have a little trouble with the Savior/Son of God thing. I’m not saying he was lying. All of his lessons, aside from the son-of-God stuff, are pretty reasonable so that gives him some credibility. But claiming to be the son of God does not.
However, if he could turn water into wine (which I’m guessing at the time would not contain sulfites) and inspire Daniel Smith’s music, then Jesus is just alright by me.

Review #190: The smell of the air tonight

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

No jokes.
Yeah, yeah, today was all beautiful and shit. I know, every customer who came into my work felt the need to tell me. I knew I would have enjoyed it, but I couldn’t until my trek home. As I walked, drinking a PBR, listening to some songs I had gotten to know well in high school, I smelled that spring-is-coming feeling in the air. It reminded me of a few things:
-The first time I “fell in love” in 1996 (it was an adolecent fixation, I won’t go into it)
-Getting off work from WalMart at midnight with KC and going to get high.
-I’m not sure why, but dusty comics from the quarter bin.
So after a substantially shitty day, I retire feeling happy and relaxed. I probably won’t even send out my resume to jobs on Craig’s List like I had planned.

Review #122: Drinking a lot

Friday, September 29th, 2006

On the way home tonight I got totally wasted, choked both of my roommates to death and then shaved my head. I would not recomend doing this unless you have a good reason. And if you do, make sure you have plenty of water and food. Hangovers are a bitch.

I was right about the food/water. No hangover. But I am exhausted and look pretty good.

Review #119: What I saw at the bus stop.

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

Tonight around 11pm I was sitting at the bus stop coming home from work. I was bummed because I was losing my buzz from the beer I’d had and didn’t have any matches to light my single-stick cigarette (trying to quit again or at least cut WAY back). Suddenly I hear a comotion and look up. What do I see but a group of about twenty guys running through the intersection all in their underpants. As if this wasn’t cool enough, a couple were actually wearing briefs.
On the outside I had my usual stoic, aloof expression, not even looking like “what the hell…?” On the inside, however, I was championing the human spirit as well as the fact that for a lot of young men a rite of passage usually includes removing their pants in public.
A few minutes later, they ran back.
A side note: I feel I’ve been puting a lot of karma points in latley. One of my horoscopes today said:”Today, you see how the energy you put out is coming back to you. Get ready for a profound sense of fullness, of reward.” I don’t feel that this is my reward because none of the guys were very big or hairy. And had they been, I’m sure none would’ve come over and given me a blowjob. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying….

Review #117: Fly paper

Sunday, September 24th, 2006

Every time I’ve ever suggested using fly paper, the idea gets shot down. I’ve done it before, It’s simple. You tack it up, they stick to it, in about two days they’re done. Not being able to reproduce the fly problem is nil. But all I hear is “Eww.yuck..That’s digusting! I don’t want that around here!” Call me nutso, but I’d rather put up with some yucky tape for two days and throw it out than suffer an indefinite period of time futilely swatting at the vermin while they crawl freely over every conceivable surface of my home.

Review #114: the weather for the next week

Jesus, christ! What’s a guy got to do to get some rain around here!?!

Review #107: The Dinosaurs (rough edit)

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

Still photo, not playable!

About three years ago, my friends Jake and Garrett had this idea to make a movie about saving my life. From what? I don’t know, severe depression? Odd, since both were also susceptible to such emotions. I just watched the rough edit and I have to say it’s great. It’s more about our friends lives when we all lived in Arcata, CA. I promised Garrett I wouldn’t show it to anyone else yet. I’m giving him input and hopefully it’ll be done soon. I’ll keep you posted.

Review#90: The Weather this evening

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

I stepped outside on a break today, before it had started raining, and I could feel the seasons changing. It was a little windy and a little cold. The sky was overcast and you could smell the ocean on the air. In all honesty it made me a little horny.

Note:I did not take the photo, I got it by googling “overcast”. I know I don’t credit the other photos I get from Google, but this one LOOKS like I could’ve taken it

Review # 29: Summer Rain

Friday, May 19th, 2006

I know it’s not officially summer yet, but the weather the last few days has just about felt like it. Then I woke up today and it was overcast. It started raining while I was at work and it was beautiful. The air was warm but the cleansing power of the rain was washing all the bullshit off of the street/planet. Maybe I’m being romantic, but it was perfect, the kind of weather I could fall in love in. I’m as single as I’ve ever been right now, but that didn’t get me down. It just made me think of the infinite possibilities there are.

review#25: Me or half of me

Well. there was a long rant here that I wrote while I was drunk and because I control this space, I made it go away.
