INKSTAND

A long time ago it came to my attention that people get really excited about the Super Bowl. I could give a rat’s ass about the Super Bowl, but for them it’s like a holiday. So, everyone but me gets an extra holiday? No way. So this year I decided to make my Super Bowl. I couldn’t think of an event that I could use to replace football. Comic conventions are far away and last for days, new comics come out every week and are nothing to celebrate. So I just took the date that Felix Unger got thrown out of his house, according to the Odd Couple television show’s voiced-over intro and decided to make it PhilDay. This was November 13th. And let me tell you, the first PhilDay was a huge success!

I was only able to extract one tradition from this holiday. Seeing as it’s the first one I think I’ll have plenty of time to concoct more in future years. This tradition is that you must drink a Sparx or other alcoholic energy drink brefore noon. If one is not available you may substitute it with a mimosa that has a ratio of 1 part orange juice to AT LEAST 3 parts champaigne.
So I did that, went to the video store and rented the second disc of Battlestar Galactica, season one, and This is Spinal Tap. Returning home, I cleaned the oven so I could cook the roast I had marinating. I proceeded to watch soaps, talk to some of my online friends and nurse a bottle of champaigne while eating summer sausage, Ritz and cheese.
I then tried to do some watercolor painting, but since I don’t do it that often anymore, I start with excercises like landscapes and stuff and stop before I do anything good. This time I did a bottle. again. The bottle looks good, but I have no idea what to paint around it. whatever.
Then J-devilishly-handsome-money, who I thought I wouldn’t get to see, called. He had an extra hour and said he’d stop by. *swoon* He came over, we made good use of the short visit, then he was off to work.
I finished the evening by watching Spinal Tap while eating my roast (a little dry), then alternating between episodes of Battlestar and Firefly, wich I am borrowing from Tony, all while drinking some Pike’s Kilt Lifter. I’m done with Firefly now, so I can finally watch Serenity.
All in all, not a bad day. I did everything I wanted to and then some. I can’t WAIT until next PhilDay. I’ll be sure to tell more Phils about it next time, though.

MY friend Josh had the idea for my 150th review to be of my own blog. I think this is a bang-uip idea, but I have too much other stuff to review right now. Maybe I’ll do it for Review #200. Hey, it’s not my fault Doogie Howser came out today.

On the way home tonight I got totally wasted, choked both of my roommates to death and then shaved my head. I would not recomend doing this unless you have a good reason. And if you do, make sure you have plenty of water and food. Hangovers are a bitch.

I was right about the food/water. No hangover. But I am exhausted and look pretty good.
