Dreams, Ghosts, and

Dream Number One

Okay, so a couple of days ago I had this dream I was smuggling cocaine, but that’s mostly beside the point. The interesting part was where I was posting this really smarmy article on wikipedia about gnosticism - just saying a bunch of stereotypical things and generally making fun of the culture and being a real smartass.

The next day, came back to the computer and Dan from Taognostic had flagged my dream post and said “Unfortunately, Garrett’s factual account of Gnosticism is way off base”.

So of course I was pretty crushed, but I knew deep down that Dan’s comments were true and that he didn’t mean it in a pissed of way, just that he was disappointed in my attitude. I realized that I probably shouldn’t have tried to write something so irreverent and was bummed that I hadn’t had a chance to erase it.

[Sidenote: I've thought about it some, and I think my subconscious may have chose Dan as the actor in this dream because one time I posted a comment about veganism on his site and then felt bad about it afterward.]

That is, I thought that until I got Dan’s response to the dream:

I added Taognostic to the Gnosticism wikipedia page yesterday or the
day before, which is a little coincidental, and I also felt a
little… unworthy of putting my site the page. Looks like I sent a
ripple through the Gnostic logosphere, which ended up sticking its
nose in your dream!

Isn’t that fucking peculiar? What are the chances?
By the way, you should check out Dan’s Brazil log; he’s got some great photo’s of his travels there.

Ghosts???

Alright, I know just a couple of weeks I said I saw a ufo, but now I think I might have seen a ghost (or something) ! I was in the kitchen drowning one of my salad’s with nutritional yeast, and as I turned up to my left I had this quick flash of someone looking right at me, only a few feet off. It was so quick and scary - I screamed up to my roommate twice and then ran upstairs!

I’ve never had an experience like that before, though the past year or so I’ve become more engrossed in paranormal stories and such (thinking of them in terms of religious experience) - so I am wondering how much of that talk is manifesting itself in my reality. People in my house have started talking about seeing things, or dreaming of people that live in the house and I wonder how that is influencing me. One of my old roommates Brett even had this reoccurring dream about a little girl who would come and scratch his arms violently!

The weirdest thing for me was that I had a vague sense that the person looking at me, WAS me. My first instinct was fright, but my first real sense was that it was someone familiar. I didn’t tell anyone else in the house that, (and I am just realizing that it may be because that doesn’t exactly fit the mythology that is developing around the phenomena there). I should probably let everyone in on the fact that that’s what my inuition felt. But it doesn’t make any sense, how the hell could it have been ME I was seeing?

Dream Number II

Okay, you think that dream sounded cosmic and outrageous? Check this dream out from two nights ago.

Background info: so occasionally (in real life) I set up shows at my house for out of town acts. And apparently in the dream I had forgotten that I had set up a gig for, yeah that’s right, Little Richard! I checked my email and was shocked to find out that I had done absolutely no publicity, so I gathered up the information and went walking around town to spread the word. But when I got to talking to people, I realized that I was actually a little embarrassed to go around and hand out fliers trying to convince people to come see Mr. Tutti Frutti sing and dance at my house.

I knew, on the other hand, that I couldn’t let the guy down. Then while I was walking around trying to make fliers, I started freaking out that maybe the show was for Lionel Richie, and not Little Richard, and that I had confused the two! Then I felt REALLY bad.

WTF??
