I listened to some of Zac’s podcast last night as I was going to bed – he was talking about supernatural powers, and how intense forms of concentration will sometimes create these “paranormal” experiences. He talked about his own teacher’s experiences having items appear from thin air in front of his face, etc.

I woke up in the middle of the night last night with my hand clasped tight around a yellow button. I have no idea where this button came from – I just moved to this house, and only have a few sheets, and nothing with yellow buttons on it. Even if it did ride onto my bed with one of the blankets, why was I clasping so tightly to it when I woke up ?
Tim has this to say about it:
“do buttons have any particular significance for you in your life, like maybe from when you were a kid or something? im pretty much 100% open to the possibility that you simply materialized it – that listening to the podcast was sort of like this weird reminder to some part of your mind that such things were possible. and once your conscious mind checked out, your subconscious went to work doing what it knows best, and wanted to create some physical proof for when your conscious mind returned, so that your conscious mind would have no choice but to be thrown into a series of questions and challenges which would force it to re-configure itself.
i personally would sew the button onto a piece of clothing which you always wear and/or make sure you’re always carrying it with you somehow. you could also sit down and do some free association or poetry about the button. think about what buttons do: binding pieces of cloth together, as well as what else buttons are: such as the buttons on a phone or computer, which you’re much more intimately connected to right now. it could also be a signal of some sort that you need to change your life from being about computer buttons to being about cloth buttons, but in like a more metaphorical sense.
anyway, thats my armchair reading of all this. i would definitely make sure that you take some kind of follow-up action here though, because i think that’s really important. much moreso than actively understanding it… just to let it build up in your mind ”
Update: I talked to Amber – the button is hers. But this still doesn’t negate the implications of my waking up with it firmly in my hand.
