Not to be too political…

Monday, November 19th, 2007

This crosses a line.

I hesitate to even post this just because the buzz it is creating WILL end up giving the guy more exposure, but I don’t care. If people really fall for this shit, then fuck this reality.

In the paper again … *yawn*

Yep. That’s right. Seattle Times felt it was important to tell the masses that Amber and I archive found sound from answering machine tapes we collect at thrift stores and yard sales. Read the article here. Pretty cool!

If you happen to find tapes we would’ve gotten but you beat us to them, you should digitize them, and send them our way! We’ll air it on our radioo radioo.

Hollow Earth Radio

In the Google Sky

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Touring the new Google “Sky” last night and I found this in the middle of outer-space somewhere.

Any ideas? Here are the coordinates: 13.4234° 80.1016°

Also, check out this article: Former pilots, officials call for UFO probe and on top of asking yourself if we are in another UFO flap, wonder this: How the hell did the guy from Reuters get away with saying that they wanted a “UFO probe”.

That guys got balls.

Kilboy Fuckbot Lost Recordings

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

Hollow Earth Radio recently acquired four old analog Reel to Reel machines and about a thousand old recordings from a nice fellow on craigslist giving away his entire collection. At the same time, Dj Jake who does Salt of The Earth (on Wednesday evenings here on Hollow Earth Radio) gave me all of the old Kilboy Fukbot recordings he personally owned, including a whole slew of reels that were otherwise forgotten.

I am now in a moral quandry, trying not to eat away my life digitizing all of this sound (I’ve limited myself to just one a night). Recently I’ve been in the mood to dig through these old Arcata recordings done by my friends under a whole slew of ridiculous band names (The Boont Dusties, Kilboy Fuckbot, Kill Your Darlings, Fucktopia, the Panda Tears, etc.) here are three I’ve made available for download.

These are all recordings of Kilboy Fuckbot, a rotating lineup of friends who just wanted to rock out and not worry too much about actual song structure. A lot of this is inebriated and hard to listen to, but it’s ever so nostalgic for me. After someone saw us play in an old victorian it was rumored that they said of the band “It’s a lot more fun to be in a noise band then to listen to a noise band”. That’s probably true.

Here are three recordings for your perusal:

1. Ryan Pintar giving a speech on Kilboy Fukbot music theory.

2. Song sung by Jenny B, about strungout drug addicts.

3. Kilboy Fukbot, live in my bedroom with me totally drunk and screaming ridiculous lyrics and putting the mic right up to the amp a lot.

~Garrett

Enjoy, there shall be more! And if anyone wants to come help digitize our wierd collection of music, drop us a line!
