The end of a carnival

Last night I dream that I was part of a troupe of folks who toured with a traveling carnival as performers. Heavy in the air was a feeling that this was going to be the last year it was going to happen. I’ve noticed that the idea of the Carnival about to close down, or the street parade that is doing it’s last celebration is a strong theme in my dreams for the past couple of years. They also seem to correlate to dreams in which there is a stabbing. Here are at least two dreams that I’ve written about on my blog that have to do with that:

‘Stabbing Dream

After I was bandaged, Amber and I walked out of the carnival, where she asked the woman guarding the entrance for a hair tie. The woman said “You’re the seventh person who’s asked for a rubber band”. The woman had her son run back into the shack and fetch one. As we walked out into the street with the crowd, I noticed rapidly generating cloud formations that were shaped like bird footprints in the sand. Then I noticed large ice crystals falling from the sky. The word “chemtrails” hushed among the crowd. I picked up one of the contaminated crystals, and saw that they weren’t just solid ice but actually small branches with barely fruited blossoms and large decorative seeds completely covered in frozen crystals.

and Batman Signal (and the year of the dragon)

I am wandering around an unfamiliar city; it is my one night together with Faith and we have broken away from my crowd of friends to explore. The city is nightlife intensive, almost as if Mardi Gras is taking place – people yelping down the sidewalk with sparklers, the whole town buzzing with energy.
I see a black dragon chasing the bat, swirling and dodging between the clouds. It is very active, not necessarily violent – but there is no doubt that the one is in pursuit of the other.

I am in a state of utter shock. It takes me a minute to gather the courage to utter what it is I am seeing, but I finally manage to get the words out. She looks at me calmly with no external response, so I say “Isn’t that fucking weird? What the hell is going on? There is a fucking black dragon chasing a bat up there!” She takes my arm and says “It’s hard being a person that sees those sort of things, but it is so common for me. All that it really means is that we should get out of here, ” – and she leads me away.

Anyway, there was not much I could remember from my dream other than I woke up out of it feeling very heavy. One key point was a fellow talking to me while floating in a water tank. He said he had been experimenting and figured out that if he just let his body relax in the water and remained perfectly still, the direction that he would move in the water could be mapped to places in his body that needed healing.

For some reason, while we traveled on the road with this carnival, we stayed in really dingey hotel rooms. So there was also a part in which I was really drunk in my hotel room and I called this radio tech guy I know, and left a drunken message on his voicemail and a drum jam. I would do anything to figure out how to hack into the dream voicemail of this guy and replay the message I left him.

Maybe I should write him and see if he got any weird voicemails last night.

  1. These symbols are cropping up everywhere in my sphere of communication right now.

    Ice crystals
    Closing
    Seeds
    Carnivals

    …interesting.

Do you remember this black dragon dream?

Last night I dreamt something about being on a boat hiding amidst gigantic ice formations, clefts in glaciers or similar. We may have been selling something off the boat. There was a reference to an old teacher/hero of mine.
